Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Taverna, operated by Brissago Technologies AS ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. Subscription and billing

Taverna requires a paid subscription after a 7-day free trial. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically unless cancelled. Payment is handled through Apple's App Store — we do not store your payment details.

You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not offer refunds for unused time except where required by applicable law.

2. Your content

You retain ownership of any content you create or import in Taverna — recipes, meal plans, lists, and media. By using the service, you grant us a licence to store, sync, process, and display that content to provide the app's features to you. Where you choose to make content available to other users (for example, through an inspiration feed or similar discovery feature), you grant us a licence to display that content to other users of the service. You can withdraw this at any time by removing the content from your account.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you import or upload does not infringe the rights of third parties.

3. AI-generated content

Taverna uses third-party AI services to generate recipes and suggestions on your behalf. AI-generated content may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. You should use your own judgement before following any recipe, particularly regarding allergens, dietary restrictions, or food safety.

We make no warranties about the accuracy or fitness of AI-generated content.

4. Fair use and rate limits

AI features (recipe generation, suggestions) involve real costs per request. To ensure the service remains available and sustainable for all users, we reserve the right to apply reasonable rate limits on AI-powered features, including a monthly cap on recipe generations per account. Limits are designed to accommodate normal personal use, we will not apply them arbitrarily, and we may adjust them from time to time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to abuse, overload, or circumvent any usage limits.
• Reverse-engineer or scrape the service.
• Use the service to generate or distribute harmful, misleading, or infringing content.

6. Account termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Upon termination, your content will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Taverna available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. If we make material changes to these terms, we will update the date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Disclaimer and liability

Taverna is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brissago Technologies AS is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the claim.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Norwegian courts.
